February 11, 2013 President Obama issued a Presidential Policy Directive on Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience and an Executive Order for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity. Presidential Policy Directive-21 (which will replace Homeland Security Presidential Directive-7, issued in 2003) and the Executive Order will enhance both the physical and cyber security and resilience of our nation’s critical infrastructure.

February 9, 2013 The Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) issued a proprietary alert regarding the recent and increased distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks launched against multiple and smaller financial institutions. The advisory provides an overview of the attacks, as well as suggested advance mitigation strategies, key indicators, and information on escalation and reporting. Read More
